The client

Sustainix is an Amsterdam-based ESG consultancy focused on transforming the hospitality industry through sustainability. Their services span CSRD compliance, data intelligence, ESG strategy, and green financing, tailored specifically for hotels and hospitality groups.

The challenge

Sustainix originally built their website in Wix, but it didn’t reflect their expertise or the complexity of their services. The site lacked visual polish, felt generic, and failed to clearly communicate what Sustainix stood for, especially to an audience unfamiliar with ESG.

Key issues included:

  • Inconsistent messaging and terminology
  • Unclear navigation and service structure
  • A visual style that didn’t match their forward-thinking, tech-savvy brand
  • Difficulty educating users on complex sustainability topics

The goal

To create a modern, professional, and easy-to-navigate website that would:

  • Clearly communicate Sustainix’s unique value and services
  • Reflect their brand identity and purpose
  • Help visitors quickly understand how Sustainix could help them
  • Improve user experience, site performance, and engagement

Brand Alignment That Makes Strategy Visible

We started with a full brand strategy session, defining Sustainix’s mission, vision, tone of voice, and core values. Through this, we established the brand archetype as a Sage + Hero: wise, guiding, and courageous in helping clients take action. From this foundation, I created a full brand book, including:

  • Voice & tone guidelines
  • Visual identity (color palette, typography, layout rules)
  • Purpose, mission, and positioning statements
  • Social and web design language for consistency

The result was a brand that not only looked clean and credible, but felt like a high-level ESG guide.

A Smarter Way to Navigate Complexity

Sustainix’s services are nuanced and tailored. To make them digestible, I designed an interactive decision-aid just after the homepage hero:

“What sustainability opportunities are you aiming for?”

Visitors choose one of five bubble-style prompts and are guided to the right service page, streamlining decision-making without needing to decode internal jargon.

This user-first design makes a dense subject approachable and actionable.

From Fragmented to Flow

The old site had disconnected pages and misaligned terminology, sometimes describing the same service in multiple, conflicting ways.

To resolve this, I:

  • Structured services into 4 core ESG domains
  • Built a dropdown mega-menu for clean, intuitive navigation
  • Streamlined content across the site to reinforce clarity
  • Designed longer, scannable pages with clear CTAs and supporting visuals

Every section now contributes to telling a consistent, compelling story.
